The purpose of the Manager's Bookshelf is to allow members to post reviews on books/sources that they have found helpful with their development and roles as managers.
The bookshelf is complimentary to the CVPM Recommended Reading list (CVPM Recommended Reading List publications are noted with an asterisk) and provides
members reference to additional valuable resources.
If you are interested in submitting a resource review for The Manager's Bookshelf, please complete the submission form below. The following information will be required:
* Topic
* Publisher's Review
* Title
* ISBN number
* Author(s)
* Year Published
* Helpful to (audience)
* Reviewer's Comments
* Review Date
The TOPIC will likely be "management" but also include what area of management, i.e., Financial, Human Resource, etc.
The PUBLISHER'S REVIEW is the general description that the author or publisher provides on the inside or back cover of the publication.
This is NOT your personal review but overview of topic.
The TITLE and ISBN number: self-explanatory but those ISBN numbers can be evasive. Include the dashes with the ISBN number.
The AUTHOR (S) and YEAR PUBLISHED: Again, self-explanatory.
HELPFUL TO: What target audience will best benefit from reading your recommended book?
REVIEWER'S COMMENTS: "Jane Smith, DVM, CVPM"... and then add up to 80 words for your personal review.
You can look at current listings for sample reviews.
REVIEW DATE: When you submit the review via e-mail or fax, the date you transmit the data will be the review date.
Your review is welcome at any time. When it is received, it will be added to the composite list.
The VHMA posts new reviews to the main page on a monthly basis.
