1:00 pm to 4:00 pm - Session Two "You're Fired!" The Appropriate protocols for Terminating Employment
The second of two "split sessions," this session will continue the division between Canadian and American participants to deal with the appropriate protocols in each jurisdiction to avoid claims for unlawful dismissal. It is anticipated that a lively discussion relating to the protocols employed by various managers for "exit interviews" will be presented.
4:00 pm to 5:00 pm - Session Three "The Bear Pit" An Open Forum to Discuss Topical Legal Issues facing the Manager
Our day will end with our annual "potpourri" session where managers are welcome to raise any legal issue for discussion by our moderator and the other members of the group. Very often these sessions result in helpful advice to assist the manger in resolving an acute difficult issue.
