Zero Tolerance: The Assessment and Prevention of Workplace Violence
Guest Speaker: Glen E. Kraemer, Esq.

The prevention of workplace violence—from identification of risks to implementing safe and lawful intervention strategies—is no longer someone else’s responsibility; all office leaders should have at least a foundational understanding of threat management in order to diminish the potential for harm while meeting our legal obligation to provide a safe environment.

From assessing the early warning signs to deciding on the appropriate response, this session will examine the best course of action to take to diminish the potential for violence. Moving from theory to practice, you will be provided the tools necessary to create and maintain a workplace violence prevention team program. Taught by lead counsel to several corporate threat assessment teams, the session integrates legal considerations related to disability accommodation, monitoring of social media, investigation “interim actions,” and security issues—all relevant factors in the management of the “troubled” employee before they evolve into “troubling.”
