Assessing the training needs of a veterinary hospital team involves a systematic method of identifying unmet needs, balancing priorities and making decisions. The pathway to an effective needs assessment can be murky. In this webinar, we focus on the fundamental steps necessary to build a framework for conducting an assessment. Webinar participants will have access to templates that can be applied in their practices. The following steps will be emphasized:

  • Step 1 - Ascertain the goals and purpose of the needs assessment
  • Step 2 – Identify the components of the assessment process
  • Step 3 -  Apply the assessment format to common scenarios in the veterinary practice
  • Step 4 -  Use the results of the common sense scenario to develop training programs

The framework will assist participants in more effectively defining the training and development needs of the hospital team to create targeted training programs that have a greater impact on performance.
