VHMA Webinar: The Fire Dance: Igniting Efficiency + Positive Change in your Practice
Thursday, July 16, 2020
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM ET

Our world is a busy one and we are often caught up in the swirl of completing essential tasks, pushing back against ingrained---although not always productive---habits, and dealing with ever-present distractions. While it is not productive to muscle through the chaos, it is also not advisable to ignore the disorder until it builds and creates a barrier to our goals. How do we avoid becoming mired down? The answer is a dance...a Fire Dance.

In this presentation, we will identify the three brands of inefficiency in veterinary medicine, and discuss how to implement key ideas that will transform both culture and structure. We will identify common root causes of practice inefficiencies (as identified through our ethnography), such as procedural, operational, and engagement inefficiencies. We will also discuss common zones or bottlenecks in the hospital, such as dental radiography, general surgery, exam room workflow, front desk check-in, etc. We will flow, and with a little luck and a little skill, the world will flow with us.
