My bags are pack, My kids are playing happaly with their Aunt, my fur kids are already sleeping in the kennels reserved for them at my hospital and I'm heading to Salt Lake City Utah. I must admit that I am so excited to have the opportinuty go learn everything that I can while I am away from my practice.
Like so many of my fellow practice managers I strugle with ways to make my hospital flourish in a slow econonmy. We have a face book page but we have fans all over the world not just our home town. We don't see new clients coming to us because they find the articals and information that I post on face book and say "Hey I want to go see them". We have a blog but I strugle with content and convincing my doctors that we will see new clients from a more proactive on-line presence. We have a news letter but most of my clients dont read, like a lot of things it just sits in the in box "till they have time". My frustration was mounting and I was running out of new and clever ways of driving bussiness short of standing on the side of the road daning with a sign that pointed to our parking lot.
When I was given the opportunity to come to blog paws and learn everything there was about social media, blogging and even video compasition, my fingers could not respond fast enough. I want to add the skills that I learn here to my acinal of skills I bring to may hospital. I would love to have the confedence to boost our presence on-line and feel comfortable that I understand how to do things in a digital world. I hope by learning everything I can in salt lake I can also drive business, and I hope I will have a better response to a blog than dancing on the side of the road.
