When the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA) settled on the theme of “Discover Your Superpower” for its September 2022 Annual Conference at SeaWorld in Orlando, the association’s leadership had no idea that the conference itself could soar high above its past milestones in attendance and exhibitor participation.

The three-day conference registered a historic 561 attendees who joined forces for insightful panel discussions, networking events, and dynamic educational sessions (424 attendees and 137 industry representatives). In keeping with the Superpower theme, attendees were supplied – and they donned - capes during the annual membership meeting. Original comic books titled “Secret Superhero,” showcased the talents that veterinary practice managers demonstrate daily when dealing with challenges.

POW! More Historic Feats!

The conference coincided with yet another milestone - the 30th anniversary of the Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) certification program. More than 140 CVPMs attended the conference. One thousand and two (1,002) management professionals have earned the CVPM credential since 1992.

The exhibit hall included 65 representing industry companies offering the opportunity to view and discuss products and services created to support the successful operation of veterinary practices.

Educational offerings from VHMA’s annual conference were timely and insightful and included programs such as keeping your budget on track during inflationary times, learning how Veterinary Practice's KPIs can help make short and long-term assessments of the practice's financial health, managing client and employee relationships, exploring the best practices when an employee is injured, and discovering how to boost a practice’s efficiency with innovative technology.

Attendees earned up to 16.5 CE credits (17.5 hours for CVPMs) and left the conference with capes, VHMA comic books, and new strategies for conquering villainous challenges.
