The Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA) proudly announces the celebration of Practice Manager Recognition Week, taking place from November 9 to 15, 2025. This annual event honors the dedication, leadership, and expertise of veterinary practice management professionals, as well as their vital contributions to the veterinary field.
November is a month synonymous with gratitude—and VHMA extends its heartfelt appreciation to its membership of more than 5,000 veterinary practice managers. Practice Manager Recognition Week provides the perfect opportunity to acknowledge the pivotal role these professionals play in ensuring the success and well-being of veterinary practices across the country.
Practice managers are often the unsung heroes of veterinary medicine. By expertly managing human resources, finances, marketing, operations, and client relations, they empower veterinarians and medical teams to focus on their true passion—caring for animals and improving patient outcomes.
To mark the week, VHMA will offer social media content, celebration ideas, and resources to help veterinary teams recognize their managers and express appreciation.
“VHMA is proud to continue this meaningful tradition,” said Christine Shupe, CAE, VHMA Executive Director. “Practice Manager Recognition Week shines a light on the dedication, professionalism, and leadership that practice managers demonstrate every day. Their commitment ensures that veterinary practices run efficiently and that teams, clients, and patients receive the support they deserve.”
“In today's modern veterinary practice, the role of the practice manager continues to evolve and grow in importance. From guiding teams through new technologies and workflows to fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace, practice managers are essential to creating a culture of care for both animals and people. Their contributions not only influence how veterinarians do their work but shape the work of our veterinary healthcare teams, ultimately determining how well we serve our patients, and our clients," said Dr. Michael Q. Bailey, president of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
