CANADIAN REPRESENTATIVE
Mathieu Doyon, LL.B, MBA, CVPM (Ville St-Laurent, QB)
Mathieu has been involved in veterinary practice management since 2001. An active member of the VHMA since 2003, he joined a 15-doctor companion animal practice as the Hospital Administrator after his graduate studies. He has gained experience in various environments ranging from referral and emergency hospitals with over 150 employees to exotic animal clinics, as well as general one-and-a-half doctor practices.

Trained as a lawyer, his undergraduate studies complement his business training in improving the legal compliance of veterinary practices in Human Resources, ownership transitions, corporate structures, and contracts. His past experience in the field of computer business development has recently led him to collaborate closely with practice management software developers throughout Eastern Canada in order to disseminate management and operations best practices faster and more efficiently.

He balances his professional involvement with an intense family life - raising four children and helping taking care of the family’s numerous pets (lizards, geckos, and fishes), while scuba diving every chance he gets.

VETERINARIAN
Aron Tallent, DVM, CVPM (Conway, AR)
When I was growing up in Fort Smith, Arkansas, I helped my grandfather care for animals on his dairy farm. From those experiences, I acquired my passion for veterinary medicine. I attended the University of Arkansas as an undergraduate student and graduated in 1973 from Oklahoma State University with my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. After practicing in Bentonville, Arkansas and Poteau, Oklahoma, I purchased Conway Animal Clinic in 1976 in Conway, Arkansas. I am the only Certified Veterinary Practice Manager in Arkansas. I believe that increasing the standard of care for pets will also increase the quality of life for their caregivers.

I married my wife Beverly in 1968. We have two sons, two daughter-in-laws, and four wonderful grandchildren (three boys and finally one girl!). We also have a poodle named Bitsi. My hobbies include landscaping, working in my greenhouse, serving in my church, and helping Conway Animal Welfare on community service projects.
