Employment Law – Workplace Accommodation Workshop
Speaker: Lara C. de Leon
This interactive and dynamic session will provide critical legal updates and developments in the area of disability accommodation, including how to engage in the interactive process, how to handle sensitive discussions about medical conditions, and how to determine whether a requested accommodation is reasonable (or not). It will explore various timely scenarios facing employers such as employee mental health, substance abuse, and COVID-related requests.

Understanding the Financial Implications of the Last Year to Prepare for a Better Future
Speaker: Mike C Manoloff, CPA
Your budget was a tidy village. COVID was Godzilla. The safeguards you took in 2020-2021 protected the village, but also changed your financial landscape. It’s time to prepare the village for 2022.

In this session, you will learn how to analyze COVID’s impact on benchmarks and determine whether those benchmarks are still relevant. We will discuss what measures – from extra PPE to changes in intake – will likely remain essential in the new normal.

You will also learn to analyze a profit and loss (P&L) statement by asking the right questions when you see fluctuations. Together, we will work through possible explanations and help you determine what business events led to what the P&L shows. From this analysis of past events and deeper understanding of past data, you will be able to create better projections for the future.

Navigate Team Dynamics using Emotional Intelligence
Speaker: Lisa Blanton, MBA, SHRM-SCP
Have you ever started working with new team members and wondered, "What in the world is going on with these people?" It's frustrating when people around you don't seem to "get it." The best way to understand a team's dynamic is to start with yourself. We all have a "natural approach" to team mentorship. Once you recognize your style, likes, and dislikes, you will better understand where you fit and how your unique talents can best support the team's overall effectiveness. Recognizing and appreciating style differences increases cooperation and trust, which leads to a more cohesive, productive, and enjoyable team experience.
