2024 Animal Health Industry Overview
For over 25 years, Brakke Consulting has presented its Animal Health Industry Overview at the VMX and WVC conferences every year. The two-hour Industry Overview covers the performance of the animal health industry, the performance of the major global animal health companies, and current and future topics related to veterinary medicine in the companion animal and livestock industries.
On May 2, Brakke Consulting will present a condensed version of the 2024 Industry Overview to members of the VHMA. Brakke Consultants Bob Jones and John Volk will review the following topics:
- Animal Health Industry performance in 2023 and what’s next in 2024.
- Pets and Vets: what happened in 2023, which will include veterinary practice performance, use of telemedicine, labor issues and veterinary practice consolidation.
- How veterinarians can win the future of the home delivery of pet medications based on new research from veterinarians and pet owners.
This information-packed one-hour session will be especially valuable for those interested in the performance of the animal health industry and current issues facing the companion animal health industry and veterinary medicine.

Robert Jones, Ph.D.
Bob has had a thirty-year career in animal health and is experienced in leading commercial organizations in both the U.S. and international markets, particularly emerging markets. Bob has a great depth of knowledge in both the companion animal and food animal segments. Bob’s focus is on general and strategic consulting, with an emphasis on assisting Brakke clients in assessing their sales forces and improving their competitiveness through people as well as products.
John Volk
John Volk is an expert analyst and project manager. With deep experience in the companion animal, equine and food animal markets, he regularly assists clients with strategy development, evaluation of business opportunities, and due diligence on potential acquisitions. John is also one of Brakke’s most experienced market research experts, managing both proprietary and multi-user studies. He is particularly noted for authoring two landmark reports on the business practices of veterinarians that are widely referenced in the profession.
