Test Preparation Program

Test Preparation Program

Program Overview

VHMA is excited to offer a unique Test Preparation Study Program that is tailored to managers pursuing CVPM certification, as well as those interested in career advancement and refining and expanding their skills.

The Test Preparation Study Program supports learning through an organized and facilitated study group. The program is indispensable to veterinary practice managers preparing for the CVPM examination, new managers looking for a comprehensive introduction to management concepts, as well as experienced managers interested in a thorough review and update of management principles.

Group 1 2024 - January 20 to March 30 COMPLETED

REGISTER for Group 2 2024 - June 1 to August 10

The program covers the five essential management domains identified by the CVPM program: Human Resources, Law and Ethics, Marketing, Organization of the Practice and Finance.

The program outline, content and assignments are developed directly from the CVPM Task Analysis Outline and Recommended Reading List. Participants receive a print copy of the CVPM Preparation Workbook to guide them through the course (included in the registration price). The Workbook is a valuable reference document even after the course concludes. Participants are individually responsible to purchase the resources on the Recommended Reading List separate from the course registration. We encourage you to purchase those resources as soon as you register so that you are ready when the program starts, THIS PROGRAM HAS SIGNIFICANT READING ASSIGNMENTS.

The course emphasizes general veterinary management concepts and content common to both U.S. and Canadian practices, which is essential to build a strong foundation and in-depth understanding of management principles. Please note that while only U.S. federal law is addressed in the course, the CVPM Preparation Workbook does provide a list of Canadian federal laws that Canadian managers should be aware of. The CVPM program offers U.S. and Canadian applicable examination forms.
