The Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA) and AVMA are pleased to offer a one-day workshop to veterinary managers and owners. Leadership through Partnership: Owners and Managers Working Together to Improve Business Outcomes, which will be held in Chicago, is designed to help owners and managers assess and increase their capacity to work collaboratively to improve operations and advance the strategic plan.

Organizational performance is impacted by how well those in leadership positions can cooperate. Owners and managers who see themselves as partners are more successful at improving the speed and efficiency of their efforts and favorably impacting business outcomes, patient care, employee retention, and client satisfaction.

Keynote speakers are Neffsville Veterinary Clinic’s Bethany Bankovich Mihalik, CVPM, MHRM, CVT, CCFP, hospital administrator, and Andrew C. Sloyer, DVM, owner/managing partner. The dynamic team has mastered the art of working together and will share their journey with participants and focus on:

  • Assessing current working relationship and identifying opportunities to improve
  • Understanding roles and responsibilities to promote trust and autonomy
  • Determining the decision-making process and areas of authority that work for the practice
  • Understanding strategic and operational planning and improving working relationships to achieve goals
The workshop will be held Thursday, January 9, 2020, from 7:30 a.m.---3:00 p.m. at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile, 540 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago IL. Six CE credits are available.

Visit the VHMA website for details and registration.

Registration is $690 per leadership pair (owner/manager) and $175 for additional team members from the same practice. The fee includes continental breakfast and lunch and a VHMA membership for 2020. A $100 discount is provided to participants wishing to attend the AVMA Veterinary Leadership Conference, January 9-12, 2020.
