CVOM Certification Roadmap

In 2024 the VHMA announced the launch of a new certification program for veterinary management professionals: the Certified Veterinary Office Manager (CVOM).

The CVOM program is intended to certify qualified management professionals focused on fundamental administrative office tasks, including team leadership roles. The CVOM examination covers the following task domains: Leadership, Administrative Management/Daily Operations & Organization of the Practice, Human Resources, Staff Management and Communication, Law & Ethics, Marketing, and Financial.

The CVOM application process will open to qualified candidates in the first quarter of 2025.

 The Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA) is the accrediting association and sole sponsor of the Certified Veterinary Office Manager (CVOM) and Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) certification credentials.

The CVOM and CVPM programs are independent each other; candidates must meet minimum requirements to qualify for either program.

The CVOM and CVPM certification programs and credentials are not related to or affiliated in any way with the Certified Veterinary Business Leader (CVBL) program offered by the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC).
