The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared The Coronavirus (Covid-19) a pandemic. The virus is rapidly changing the way we live and raising questions about the virus’s impact on individuals, families, friends, coworkers, and clients, as well as how to navigate this new reality.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has created www.coronavirus.gov, where you can obtain information on precautions to take to minimize the chances of contracting the virus at home, at work, and out in the world. The recommendations for Covid-19 are changing as officials learn more about the virus, so it is essential to monitor the site for updates.

For information specific to the veterinary industry, The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) is an excellent resource. Go to https://www.avma.org/resources-tools/animal-health-and-welfare/covid-19

VHMA Events Impacted

Several members have inquired about upcoming meetings. The VHMA has a few small local conferences scheduled over the next several months that are immediately impacted. To date, these events have been rescheduled or postponed:

GAVMA, GVMA, VHMA Practice Management Conference – rescheduled from March to July 24-26, 2020.

VHMA Regional Workshop, April 30, Mahwah, NJ – postponed TBA

We will continue to evaluate future meetings, as well as our CVPM testing schedule as we get closer to each scheduled event.
