CCW policies

Hello,

I am wondering who has a policy on concealed carry in the workplace.  There are many policy examples for not allowing weapons in the workplace, but I'm not finding policy examples for workplaces that allow employees with a permit to carry.
How did other clinics in other states handle this?  Is it even an issue that comes up as an employee concern?

We are in Texas and doesn't everyone carry a concealed handgun? Not really, but we do have several employees who have licenses, including myself. We ask that the staff members keep their handgun in their locker or locked up. We allow clients and staff's children in the back. What a horrible result that would be. I have found that those that have completed the concealed handgun classes are usually very cooperative and realize the repercussions. I have never had a problem.

I've never been faced with this situation, but I think that if we were, we wouldn't make an exception to the no-weapons policy even if the employee had a controlled carry permit. If it's important for them to have it nearby, perhaps they can keep it locked in their trunk? Certainly I wouldn't want someone setting up a case with their gun holster banging against the exam table :-)
