A mastermind group is a dedicated group of professionals that meet on a regular basis to discuss issues important to them. VHMA peer-to-peer Mastermind Groups are typically led by a thought leader who moderates discussions and facilities organization of the group.

VHMA is pleased to announce the launch of our fourth Human Resources (HR) Mastermind Group facilitated by Andrea Crabtree, BS, CVPM, SPHR, PHRca, a Veterinary Practice Management Consultant, author, public speaker, and certified HR specialist.

The VHMA HR Mastermind Group will run for a six-month term and will meet live online once a month for 90 minutes. Meeting dates and times are listed below.

Each meeting will include: a presentation on a special topic of interest to the group; discussion on HR issues that participants are currently facing; as well as other relevant HR policies, tools or issues specific to the monthly topic. Each meeting will also have one or two five-minute “hot seat” mini presentations from one of the participants. Meetings will have time allotted for providing feedback, discussion, accountability, implementation, failures and successes from peers. The program is focused on problem-based learning, participants will learn how to solve problems that are important to them. Participants will share real life experiences in a supportive community of like-minded individuals. Active participation is required.

VHMA's HR Mastermind group members will also belong to a private community within VHMA's MemberConnect to communicate and share resources throughout the program term.

Participation in the group will allow members to:

  • Learn what to do – and what not to do – from other VHMA professionals who have experienced the same issues
  • Learn new systems that elevate HR knowledge and skills
