Effective July 14, 2026:
The VHMA Certification Board is pleased to announce the adoption of the VHMA Certification Code of Ethics for holders of the CVOM and CVPM credentials, effective July 14, 2026.
The new Certification Code of Ethics replaces the previous VHMA Code of Ethics for certified professionals and establishes the ethical standards expected of all CVOM and CVPM certificants. It reinforces the commitment of certified professionals to integrity, ethical leadership, accountability, confidentiality, professionalism, and animal welfare.
Please note that CVOMs and CVPMs who are also VHMA members are expected to comply with both the Certification Code of Ethics and the VHMA Member Code of Ethics.
We encourage all certificants to review the new Certification Code of Ethics to become familiar with these standards.
Thank you for your continued commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and excellence in veterinary practice management.
